Ryder Strategies Europe Ltd.

Philip Proffit
Partner

Ryder Strategies Europe Ltd is a building company that specialises in the design and construction of low energy houses. Philip Proffit, the owner of the business, has a vision to develop an efficient and optimised low energy retrofit program, capable of making sustainable low energy homes out of Victorian housing stock in the UK. Ryder has spent several years studying what was happening in Europe and working with Belgium colleagues in particular areas such as ventilation, building design and solar engineering to develop a suitable approach for UK buildings.

Technology Strategy Board

The project has been funded through Retrofit for the Future, a £17m programme managed by the Technology Strategy Board, that will see over 80 social housing units retrofitted with new, innovative technologies. Understanding and implementing best practice retrofitting of properties is key to meeting the government’s CO2 reduction target of 80% by 2050.

The results of the retrofit projects will be shared to help provide clear future direction on making the UK’s current housing stock more
energy efficient.
